Health and Fitness Major

Overview

The Health and Fitness Major focuses on promoting and maintaining health and wellness in individuals and communities. You will gain knowledge in nutrition, lifestyle behavior change, wellness programming, and fitness assessment. Upon successful completion of this major, you will be prepared for careers in corporate wellness, community health promotion, personal training, and health coaching.

Learning Goals

Upon successful completion of major, you will:

  • Understand and promote healthy lifestyle habits and physical activity for all ages
  • Assess and design fitness programs that improve individual health and well-being
  • Work with diverse populations to support safe and effective exercise participation
  • Prepare for careers or graduate studies focused on health promotion and wellness
