Creativity Through Visual Arts and Design
Our Visual Arts program fosters creativity and offers a range of classes, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and graphic design. Students also have access to our on-campus gallery, which features rotating exhibits throughout the year.
Communication Arts
In Communication Arts, we focus on the development of media skills that are essential in today’s world. Our program includes courses in journalism, digital media, and film studies, and students gain practical experience through internships and other real-world opportunities.

English: Studies in Literature and Creative Writing
Our English department offers a wide range of literature and creative writing courses, which cultivate strong analytical and communication skills. Students in our Writing/Publishing minor gain hands-on production experience with Bethel’s literary magazine YAWP!
German Language
Studying the German language opens doors to a rich cultural and linguistic heritage. Exploring German studies allows you to delve into influential literature, philosophy, and scientific contributions. Additionally, acquiring German language skills opens up opportunities for academic and professional endeavors.

Expression Through Sound
Our Music program is dedicated to providing students with a strong foundation in music theory, history, and performance. We offer a variety of ensembles, including choir, band, and orchestra, as well as private lessons with experienced instructors.
Spanish Language
Engaging in the study of Spanish offers a gateway to vibrant cultures across the Spanish-speaking world. Through learning the language, students gain access to a vast array of literature, music, and films that showcase the diversity of Hispanic heritage. Mastering Spanish fosters a deeper understanding of the interconnected histories and traditions within Spanish-speaking communities.
