Masterworks

Masterworks, Bethel College Kansas

Masterworks is an annual tradition that brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members for the performance of a large choral-orchestral work in May.

The 2026 Masterworks concert will feature:

The Creation by Joseph Haydn

  • Dr. Holly Swartzendruber, soprano
  • Dr. Russell Adrian, conductor
  • Masterworks Chorus and Orchestra

4 pm, Sunday, May 3, 2026

The Creation is an oratorio that brings to life the creation story from Genesis. Three soloists portray angels – Gabriel (soprano), Uriel (tenor), and Raphael (bass) – who introduce the marvelous works of creation. These images are brilliantly portrayed by the orchestra and the chorus joins in with celebratory rejoicing to close each day.
