Education
B.A., Bible and Religion, Bethel College, 1981

Chuck began at Kauffman Museum in 1985 as an exhibit builder and craftsmen, working closely with Robert Regier, then Bethel professor of art, now emeritus, and Kauffman Museum exhibit designer (now retired). Chuck gradually took on a larger role in exhibit design, and has led Kauffman Museum’s consulting work for a number of other museums, including permanent exhibits at the Stauth Memorial Museum in Montezuma, Kan., and the Penrose Heritage Museum in Colorado Springs. Chuck grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where his parents worked under the auspices of the Mennonite church in agricultural development and public health. He graduated from Bethel College in 1981 with degrees in industrial arts and Bible and religion, and has lived in Newton ever since. Chuck is married to Cindy Bertsche Regier ’82. They have three children, who all graduated from Bethel, and four grandchildren. Chuck is passionate about cooking, biking and raising chickens and rabbits at their Newton home.
