1983

My educational journey in the Newton Unified School District 373 laid the foundation for a lifetime of learning, service, and leadership. It also prepared me well for my years at Bethel College and the professional and faith opportunities that followed. Throughout both experiences, I was fortunate to learn from teachers and administrators who did far more than teach academic courses.  They modeled compassion, integrity, and a genuine care for me, creating relationships that have encouraged and sustained me throughout my life.

Bethel College helped me grow in my faith by inviting thoughtful exploration of other traditions while deepening my knowledge and appreciation for Mennonite values of peace, service, and community. Acquiring my degree in economics and business administration equipped me for leadership in my career and strengthened my ability to serve my family, parish, and community.  Equally important, Bethel instilled in me a commitment to social justice, respectful collaboration, and the belief that every person deserves to be valued, understood, and loved.

I am grateful for the education, values, and lifelong friendships nurtured in my beloved Newton community. These experiences continue to shape who I am and inspire me to strive to serve others each day.
