Meet the Cast

Mason Bolen

Mason Bolen is a junior English Education major from Lake Tapps, WA. He is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Bethel College collegian, the Editor-in-Chief of YAWP!, the BC Women’s Soccer goalkeeper coach, and an English tutor on campus. Mason made his stage debut last semester participating in the student-produced one acts. He is excited to be a part of a new team and to sing “Brillig-Braelig!”

Liam Ortman

Liam Ortman is a freshman Natural Science major and Business minor from Freeman, SD. He is a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Open Road, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble. He has been a part of one high school musical and three community musical productions. Liam is most excited about the music for “Alice By Heart,” specifically “Isn’t It a Trial” and “Sick to Death of Alice-ness.”

Jacob Schrag

Jacob Schrag is a senior Natural Sciences and Music major from Goessel, KS. He is a member of multiple musical ensembles including the Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Open Road. Jacob also works for the Biology Dept as a teaching assistant in Botany and Zoology classes. While he played a minor musical role during high school, this production is his Bethel College theater debut. He is excited to be back in the theater space and to work with such a fun, talented group of people.

Abby Koontz

Abby Koontz is a sophomore Natural Sciences, Bible & Religion, and Music major from Newton, KS. She is a member of the volleyball team, track and field team, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Woven, and also serves on SGA. This will be her theater debut. Abby is most excited to make the show come to life with her friends and talk in a British accent!

Lilli Reisser

Lilli Reisser is a senior Psychology major with minors in Philosophy and Theater. She is the President of the Psychology Club, a member of the Forensics team, a writer for the Collegian, and a part of the women’s soccer team. Lilli is from Enger, Germany and has been active in theater since elementary school. She has participated in over ten plays and is excited for her first Bethel musical!

Mara Oswald

Mara Oswald is a freshman Biochemistry major from Newton, KS. She is a member of the Concert Choir, Service Club, BCCJP, and the women’s tennis team. With lead experience in two high school productions – most recently as Cinderella last year – she is excited to join another show with a new group of people!

Adah Hodge

Adah Hodge is a freshman History Education major and Music minor from Newton, KS. On campu, she participates in the Student Alumni Association, SGA, Concert Choir, and the cross country and track team. Adah is excited to take part in her very first theater production!

Ben Janzen

Ben Janzen is a sophomore Business major and Bible & Religion minor from Henderson, NE. He is a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Open Road, Wind Ensemble, Thresher Sound, and Student Government Association. During high school, Ben participated in multiple one-act performances, school plays, and had a lead role in a musical. This will be his Bethel debut and he is most excited to be on stage again, and to sing fun and weird songs!

April Powls

April Powls is a fifth year Art Education major from Garnett, KS. She is currently in her student teaching semester, but prior to this semester, she was a member of the Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Woven, and occasionally organized activities put on by the Art Department! During high school, April did as much theater as she possibly could, but decided to focus on other activities during college. Now, April is excited to return to theater briefly before graduation. April is most excited about working with her peers and, hopefully, getting better at dancing.

Joy Jones

Joy Jones is a sophomore Music Education major from Lockhart, TX. She is a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Woven. She has been theater since she was six years old and she is excited for her first production on the Krehbiel Auditorium stage. Joy is excited to step outside her comfort zone with her character and embrace the whimsy and strangeness of Wonderland.

Simon Hodge

Simon Hodge is a senior Social Work major, currently working on his practicum at Prairie View and City Hall. Simon is a member of the track team, running the 400m, 600m, and 800m races. This is Simon’s first musical, and he is most excited to perform “Manage Your Flamingo”!

Maira Abrile de Paiva

Maira Abrile de Paiva is a senior Elementary Education major from Campinas, Sao Paolo, Brazil. She is a Community Assistant on campus, takes voice lessons, and sings in the Concert Choir. Maira has experience dancing in Tinkerbell, Moana, Beauty and the Beauty, and Alice in Wonderland. She is excited to sing and dance with her friends!

Adrianna Russell

Adriana Russell is a freshman Business Management major with a Marketing concentration from Bennington, KS. Adriana is a member of the Bethel softball team. She has prior theater experience with the Salina Community Theater as well as middle school and high school theater. She is most excited about getting to see the musical come together and getting to know new people.

Riley Hartvickson

Riley Hartvickson is a freshman Social Work major and Music minor from Goessel, KS. Riley is involved in BCCJP, Software Development Club, and is a Survival Coordinator. Prior theater experience includes playing Rooster in “Annie,” Mr. Green in “Clue,” the lead roles in two one-act plays, and also assisting with tech in three shows. Riley is most excited for the last chorus of “The Key Is” on opening night.

Ethan Wilcox

Ethan Wilcox is a freshman Music and Software Development major from Halstead, KS. He is a member of Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Open Road, and the Bethel track team. Ethan was in musicals all throughout high school and is excited to be in his first college production.

Stefany Cortes-Hernandez

Stefany Cortes-Hernandez is a sophomore Social Work, History, and Political Science major from Freeman, SD. She is a member of Wind Ensemble, Woven, and Concert Choir. She is also a news writer for the Collegiate, Vice President of the Social Work Club, and a member of the Bethel Book Club. Stefany had participated in several musicals throughout high school and is more excited for “turtle time.”

Kyra LInenberger

Kyra Linenberger is a junior Music Performance major from Garden City, KS. She is a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Woven. This is Kyra’s sixth time on the Bethel stage. She is loving the energy of the cast and can’t wait to share with everyone who comes to see the show!

Tyrel Wagner

Tyrel Wagner is a sophomore Communication Arts major from Waterville, KS. He is a member of the football team as well as the theater department. He has done theater for seven years now including a role in last spring’s production of “The Bookstore.” Tyrel is most excited about playing a new role that has challenged his creativity.

Timothy Schrag

Timothy Schrag is a senior Bible and Religion and Communication Arts double major from Goessel, Kansas. He is a member of the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Open Road, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble. He also works as the Entertainment Editor for the Bethel College Collegian. While he had a small role in his high school’s musical rendition of “Beauty and the Beast,” his first large on-stage role was during the fall of 2024 when he played the lead in a student-produced one act at Bethel. He is very excited to work with all the great people that make up the “Alice By Heart” cast and crew!

Victoria Wright

Victoria Wright is a sophomore Biochemistry and Music major from Lawton, OK. She is a member of the Concert Choir and Wind Ensemble, takes piano lessons, and formerly played on the Bethel women’s soccer team. Victoria is also Co-President of the Bethel Book Club. This is her first stage production at Bethel College and she is most excited for “turtle time”!

Meet the Crew

Lexi Nickel is a freshman. This is the sixth production she has stage managed but the first musical. She is most excited for the full ensemble songs.

Josef Anderson is a sophomore Comm Arts major, and the Bethel Theater Costume Assistant.  This is his fourth show at Bethel. He finds this show really exciting because of how much it pushes on the border of reality.

Selphie Collins is a Freshman and a Biochemistry Major. She has done theater since 8th grade. You may recognize her from Bethel’s production Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike where she played Sonia or from playing various roles in the one act Knock Knock. This is Selphie’s first time being part of the stage crew. She has loved getting to know everyone and watching their characters develop. Her favorite part of the show is the lobster dance and her favorite line is “A mock me! A Mockery!”  She would also like to shout out her friend Aby in the audience for her birthday.

Daniel Gonzalez-Arevalo, is helping out with his second BC theater production.. He is a senior who is majoring in Psychology and Communication Arts this spring. Daniel says, “It has been fun to contribute to these big productions that so many people have invested time and effort into. What I look forward to most is seeing the audience’s reactions to the production. The performers have been doing a great job showing how much fun they are having on stage and I look forward to the audience being able to experience that as well.”
