The annual Walk Sand Creek Trail Day, on Saturday, June 3, gives special recognition to Bethel College’s popular walking trail, which this year turns 25 as a managed trail.

The event is part of National Trails Day®, sponsored annually by American Hiking Society (AHS) on the first Saturday in June.

Also on June 3 is the Kauffman Museum-sponsored first-Saturday bird walk that includes part of the trail.

Members of the Sand Creek Trail Committee will be at the Memorial Grove trailhead from dawn until dusk (6 a.m.-8 p.m.) on June 4 with water available for walkers and leashed dogs.

Walk Sand Creek Trail Day is back "live" this year and celebrating its 10th anniversary on June 5, when there will also be a first-Saturday bird walk starting in the Kauffman Museum parking lot.

Walk Sand Creek Trail Day is part of National Trails Day®, sponsored by American Hiking Society (AHS).

The bird walk begins at Kauffman Museum at 7 a.m. on June 5, and includes the part of the trail on the Bethel College campus in North Newton.

The 3rd annual Neuf Memorial Run returns to the Bethel College campus Saturday, Jan. 11, to honor the memory of Russ Neufeld, a long-time Kansas resident who died Jan. 21, 2017, after an 18-month fight with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
