NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College has the only nursing program among its peer schools to be named to the top 10 in the state by RegisteredNursing.org.

Bethel’s was also one of only two programs in the south-central Kansas region to make that list.

At #9, Bethel’s program was the only one at a Kansas college or university within the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regional group, which range from University of Saint Mary in northeast Kansas (Leavenworth) to Southwestern College in southern Kansas (Winfield).

The other top-10 program in south-central Kansas is at Newman University in Wichita.

RegisteredNursing.org ranked the top 10 nursing schools in Kansas by analyzing current and historical NCLEX-RN “pass rates” – the percentage of graduates who pass the exam out of the 36 RN programs in the state.

The NCLEX-RN exam is used by all state boards of nursing across the United States to help assess a student’s competency, and is required for licensure.

Programs reviewed include schools that offer an Associate in Nursing (ADN/ASN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Bethel’s degree) or Direct-Entry MSN degree.

More about the methodology can be found at www.registerednursing.org/rn-ranking-methodology/.

Bethel College is the only private college in Kansas listed in the Forbes.com analysis of top colleges and universities, the Washington Monthly National Universities-Liberal Arts section and the National Liberal Arts College category of U.S. News & World Report, all for 2016–17. The four-year liberal arts college is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA. For more information, see www.bethelks.edu.
