NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College Athletic Director Kent Allshouse has announced that Mario Felix will lead the men’s soccer program.

Felix comes to Bethel from Denver, where he spent one season (2015) as general manager and team coach of Colorado Rush Soccer Club.

Before that, he was assistant women’s soccer coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, and director of operations for the University of Kansas women’s soccer program.

He has a B.A. in sociology from MidAmerica Nazarene and is currently enrolled in the master’s program in athletic administration at American Public University (online).

Felix also has a decade of coaching experience in youth club soccer, including KC Courage, Sporting Kaw Valley and Kansas City Legends, and high school soccer.

“I’m so very pleased with the selection of Mario Felix as our next head men’s soccer coach,” said Allshouse. “He is exactly the kind of knowledgeable, energetic and well-connected coach I was hoping we would be able to find.

“The fact that he has played, worked and lived in the Kansas area is another huge plus. I have full confidence that he will take our program to new heights.”

“I am extremely excited to be named the next head men’s soccer coach at Bethel College,” Felix said. “I am even more excited that I get to be a part of this great school, and welcoming community, staff and student body.

“I look forward to hitting the ground running, creating a winning culture and a great college experience and most, importantly sending, young men out into their communities set for success after their time spent here at Bethel College.”
