Cross-country athletes earn academic honors

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Four Bethel College cross-country runners were named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Team for 2015.

They are Grace Bradfield, junior from Derby, Olivia Gehring, senior from Manhattan, Laird Goertzen, senior from Goessel, and Erin Regier, senior from Newton.

Student-athletes are nominated by their head coaches. To qualify for this academic honor, they must be juniors or seniors who maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Bethel College is the only private, liberal arts college in Kansas listed in the 2015-16 analysis of top colleges and universities in the United States, and is the highest-ranked Kansas college in the Washington Monthly annual college guide for 2015-16.
