Evan Koch to give senior trumpet recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Evan Koch, Colorado Springs, Colo., will give his senior trumpet recital Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Koch will graduate from Bethel in May with a degree in music and an emphasis in trumpet performance. He is a student of Nick Schroeder, Bethel College adjunct instructor of trumpet.

Koch will play “Legend” by Georges Enesco; the concerto from L’Estro armonico, Op. 3, No. 9, by Antonio Vivaldi, arranged by David Marlatt; Sonata for Trumpet and Piano by Kent Kennan; and “Carnival of Venice” by Herbert L. Clarke.

His piano accompanist is Karen Unruh.

Koch is a member of the Bethel College Concert Choir, for which he serves as assistant conductor, as a recipient of the Walter H. Hohmann Choral Conducting Endowed Scholarship.

Koch plays trumpet with the Bethel College Wind Ensemble, Bethel College Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Combo I and the Bethel College Philharmonia Orchestra.

He is a 2010 graduate of Falcon (Colo.) High School.

Koch’s recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, on the ground floor of the Ad Building.
