NORTH NEWTON, KAN.– Bethel College student Kyle Doesken, Derby, will give his senior trumpet recital April 30 at 7 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.
Doesken is a fifth-year senior at Bethel, majoring in music. He is a student of David Baxter, Bethel adjunct instructor of trumpet.
Doesken’s recital program will be Sonata No. 4 in D by Domenico Gabrielli, “A Simple Song” by Leonard Bernstein, Unaccompanied Suite. No. 1 by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Nightsongs” by Richard Peaslee and Fantasia and Variations on “The Carnival of Venice” by Jean-Baptiste Arban.
Melody Bontrager, North Newton, will accompany Doesken on piano.
At Bethel, Doesken is a member of the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble I and Philharmonia, as well as the Bethel College Concert Choir.
He is a 2008 graduate of Derby High School.
The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, on the ground floor of the Ad Building.
