Austin Unruh to give senior piano recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Austin Unruh, Goessel, will give his senior piano recital Friday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Unruh will graduate from Bethel in December 2013 with a degree in mathematical science with education licensure. He is a student of Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, Bethel College professor of music.

Unruh’s recital program will be Sechs Klavierstücke, Op. 118 by Johannes Brahms, “Pavane pour une infante défunte” by Maurice Ravel and Sonata in E minor, Op. 7 by Edvard Grieg.

At Bethel, Unruh is a member of, and frequent accompanist for, the Bethel College Concert Choir.

He is a 2009 graduate of Goessel High School and the son of Duane and Karen Unruh of Goessel.

The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, on the ground floor of the Ad Building.
