NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College students Joel Boettger and Paul Voran will give a joint junior instrumental recital Monday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.
Boettger, Hesston, plays clarinet, as well as alto and tenor saxophone. Voran, Newton, plays alto saxophone. Both are students of James Pisano, Bethel assistant professor of music.
Boettger is majoring in music and will complete education licensure. Voran is a business administration major with minors in chemistry and music.
Boettger will play Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Francis Poulenc and Clarinet Concerto No. 2, Op. 74 by Carl Maria von Weber. His accompanist is Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, Bethel professor of music.
Voran will play Improvisation I (unaccompanied) by Ryo Noda and Concertina da Camera by Jacques Ibert. His accompanist is Rich Toevs, Newton.
The recital is free and open to the public.
