Anna Cook to give senior cello recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Anna Cook, Lawrence, will give her senior cello recital Saturday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Cook will graduate from Bethel College in May 2013 with degrees in music, with education certification, and music performance. She is a student of Parker Stanley, Bethel College adjunct instructor of music.

Cook’s program will include Sonata No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven, “Elegie” by Gabriel Faure, Suite No. 2 by Johann Sebastian Bach and Trio (Movements 1 and 2) by Nino Rota.

Cook’s accompanist will be Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, Bethel professor of music. She will also be joined on the Rota Trio by guest musicians Jordan Ortman, Marion, S.D., on piano, and Joel Boettger, Hesston, on clarinet, both Bethel College juniors.

Cook is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School and is the daughter of Carol and Don Cook of Lawrence.

The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, in the Ad Building basement.
