Dmitry Bucklin to give senior voice recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Dmitry Bucklin, Mountain Lake, Minn., will give his senior voice recital Saturday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Bucklin will graduate from Bethel College in February 2013 with a degree in music, with education certification. A tenor, he is a student of Soyoun Chun, Bethel College assistant professor of music.

Bucklin’s program will include “Panis Angelicus” by César Franck; Three Shakespeare Songs (“Come away, death”; “O mistress mine”; “Blow, blow, thou winter wind”) by Roger Quilter; “Dies Bildnis” (from Die Zauberflöte/The Magic Flute) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “L’ultima canzone” and “Non t’amo piu” by Francesco Paolo Tosti; “Vocalise, Op. 34 No. 14” and “Oh, never sing to me again, Op. 4 No. 4” by Sergei Rachmaninoff; “A Bit of Earth” (from Secret Garden) by Lucy Simon; “Come what may” (from Moulin Rouge) by David Baerwald; and “Because We Believe” by Andrea Bocelli.

Bucklin’s accompanist will be Ken Rodgers, Hesston. He will also be joined by guest musicians Anna Cook, Bethel College senior from Lawrence, cello, and Nicole Eaton, senior from Dodge City, soprano.

Bucklin is the son of David and Joyce Bucklin of Mountain Lake.

The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, in the Ad Building basement.
