Five seniors display work in annual spring art exhibit

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – The annual Bethel College Senior Art Exhibit opens May 7, with a reception for the artists to be held during Commencement Weekend.

Five seniors are showing work in a variety of media in the Fine Arts Center Gallery on the Bethel College campus.

Sarah Fuentes, Erie, Colo., is showing photographs. She graduates May 23 with a major in art and a minor in history. Her parents are Daniel and Heidi Fuentes of Erie.

Sam Gaeddert, Hutchinson, is showing ceramics. He will graduate May 23 with a major in art and a minor in business management. He is the son of Jean and Russ Gaeddert of Hutchinson.

Kelli Kroeker, Hutchinson, is showing acrylic paintings. She will graduate May 23 with a major in art education. Her parents are Cindy and Dan Kroeker of Hutchinson.

Kelsie Miller, Goshen, Ind., is showing photographs and image transfer paintings. She graduates May 23 with a major in art. She is the daughter of Brent and Roma Miller of Goshen.

Emily Piper, North Newton, is showing oil paintings. She will graduate May 23 with a double major in art and social work. Her parents are Beth and Jon Piper of North Newton.

The five are students of David Long, associate professor of art, Rachel Epp Buller, adjunct assistant professor of art, and Gail Lutsch, retired professor of art.

The seniors’ exhibit will be open through Sunday, May 23. There will be an artists’ reception Saturday, May 22, from 4-6 p.m. to which the public is welcome.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. There is no admission charge.
