NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Women’s tennis player Paige McKinney won her first match at the ITA/NAIA Small College National Tennis Championships in Mobile, Ala., earlier today.
McKinney, a senior from Newton, defeated the #2 seed Maria Klokotzky of Fresno Pacific 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 to advance to the semifinal round to be played Friday, Oct. 16 at 8:30 a.m. Her opponent is yet to be determined. McKinney qualified for the tournament by winning the ITA Midwest Regional in Topeka Sept. 26-28.
