Three seniors to show work during annual spring exhibit

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – The annual Bethel College Senior Art Exhibit opens May 7, with a reception for the artists to be held during Commencement Weekend.

Three seniors will exhibit work in a variety of media in the Fine Arts Center Gallery on the Bethel College campus.

Jess Rempel will show oil paintings featuring mythological and religious themes. A native of Littleton, Colo., he will graduate in June with a major in art and a minor in Bible and religion.

Alex Unruh, Valley Center, will show digital photography which focuses on texture and reflective surfaces. He will graduate in May with an art major.

Spencer Sward, Wichita, will show ceramic sculptures and vessels. He will graduate with a double major in art and social work.

The three are students of David Long, associate professor of art, and Gail Lutsch, professor of art.

The seniors’ exhibit will be open through Sunday, May 20. There will be an artists’ reception from 3-5 p.m. on May 19, the Saturday before Commencement. The public is welcome.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. There is no admission charge.
