NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College will again sponsor the annual sing-along of Christmas portions of Handel’s Messiah, but on a different day than in past years.
The sing-along, which is open to all Bethel students, faculty, staff and the general public, will take place Friday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Bethel College Mennonite Church. In past years, the event has been scheduled for Wednesday.
Messiah scores will be provided, or you may bring your own. Accompaniment will be by Bethel College instrumentalists.
In addition to Richard Tirk, assistant professor of music, conductors will be seniors Joel Garber, Hesston, Aaron Linscheid, North Newton, and Parker Stanley, Liberty, Mo. Vocal solos will be performed by Chelsea Chaffin, junior from Eudora; Kate Duncan, junior from Kansas City, Kan.; Garber; Dan Graber, junior from Marion, S.D.; Ben Kliewer, senior from Buhler; Joshua Powell, freshman from Basehor; Kelly Reed, freshman from Edinburg, Texas; and Caitlin Welch, senior from Lawrence.
