Seven seniors to show work during annual spring exhibit

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – The annual Bethel College Senior Art Exhibit opens May 2, with a reception for the artists to be held during Commencement Weekend.

Seven seniors will exhibit work in a variety of media in the Fine Arts Center Gallery on the Bethel College campus.

Sarah Brisendine, Rachel Hetzke, Becky Mueller and Christa Taylor will show paintings. Brisendine, Garden City, is a summer 2006 graduate with an art major. Hetzke, Pawnee Rock, and Mueller, Halstead, are both art majors who will graduate in May. Taylor, Kidron, Ohio, will graduate in fall 2006 with an art major.

Nathan Buhr and Jennifer Clark will show photography. Buhr, a summer 2006 graduate with an art major, is from Wichita. Clark, Hillsboro, will graduate in May with a double major in art and psychology.

Leah Goering, Moundridge, will show jewelry. She will graduate in May with a major in art and a minor in biology.

The seven are students of David Long, associate professor of art, and Gail Lutsch, professor of art.

The seniors’ exhibit will be open through Saturday, May 20. On that day, there will be an artists’ reception from 3-5 p.m. The public is welcome.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. There is no admission charge.
