"Two Saras" to give junior piano recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Bethel College students Sara Adrian, Butterfield, Minn., and Sara Miller, Haven, will give the second annual "Sara Squared" concert when they do a joint junior piano recital at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the Administration Building chapel on the Bethel College campus. Adrian is a junior music major and Miller is a junior elementary education major. Both are piano students of Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, professor of music at Bethel College.

Adrian will perform "Sonata in A, K. 331, Movement 1, Theme and Variations" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Nocturne in F minor, Op. 55, No. 1" by Frédéric Chopin and "Mouvements Perpétuels for Piano" by Francis Poulenc.

Miller’s recital will include "Fiesta de las calderas" and "Danza rítmica" by Joaquin Turina, "Impromptu No. 2 in E flat" by Franz Schubert and "Sonata, K. 283, No. 5" by Mozart.

The two will also play a duet, "Ungarische Tänze, Movement 2" by Johannes Brahms.

Adrian is the daughter of Duane and Sharon Adrian of Butterfield. Miller is the daughter of Elaine and Warren Miller of Haven.

The recital is free and open to the public.
