NORTH NEWTON, KAN. - Bethel College jazz groups will present their spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 8, in Krehbiel Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center on the North Newton campus. The program will include performances by Jazz Ensemble I and II and Jazz Combo, all under the direction of Stephen Jones, instructor of music.

The concert will feature original compositions by student-musicians Andrew G. Gingerich, senior from Albuquerque, N.M.; Jerel Fast, sophomore from Boulder, Colo.; and Joel Linscheid, freshman from North Newton. Jazz Ensemble I will also perform an arrangement that Jones wrote especially for them.

Admission to the performance is free and open to the public.

A free-will donation will be taken to help fund a mini-tour to Colorado. Jazz groups will play at First Mennonite Church in Denver and Boulder Mennonite Church, April 21 and 22, and will conclude the short tour on April 23 at the University of Northern Colorado-Greeley Jazz Festival, one of the largest in the nation.
