Concert Choir to tour in West and Pacific Northwest

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- The 51-voice Bethel College Concert Choir will tour in six Western and Pacific Northwest states during the college’s spring break. Performances are scheduled for March 24-April 3 in Colorado, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nebraska. Dr. William Eash conducts the choir.

Performances to which the public is invited are scheduled for:

  • Greeley (Colo.) Mennonite Church, 7 p.m., Thurs., March 24
  • Menno Mennonite Church, Ritzville, Wash., 10 a.m., Easter Sunday, March 27
  • St. Joseph Catholic Church, Seattle, 6:30 p.m., Sun., March 27
  • Albany (Ore.) Mennonite Church, 7 p.m., Tues., March 29
  • Portland (Ore.) Mennonite Church, 7 p.m., Weds., March 30
  • First Mennonite Church, Aberdeen, Idaho, 7:30 p.m., Thurs., March 31
  • Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson, Neb., 9:30 a.m., Sun., April 3
  • Memorial Hall, Bethel College (home concert), 7:30 p.m., Sun., April 3

The choir will also participate in the Good Friday "Cross Walk" in Busby, Mont. (where they will be hosted by the White River Cheyenne Mennonite Church), on Fri., March 25, and will sing in chapel at Western Mennonite School in Salem, Ore., on Weds., March 30.

The choir’s repertoire includes a cappella and accompanied sacred works by composers and arrangers from Bach, Brahms and Mendelssohn to Ramón Noble and Moses Hogan. Accompanists are Bethel students Chelsea Vaught, keyboard and organ, and Russell Adrian, piano.
