Schmidt to present senior biology seminar

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Bethel College student Emily (Skinner) Schmidt, North Newton, will present her senior seminar entitled "Building a Successful, Stable and Diverse Prairie Community" at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, in room 16 of Krehbiel Science Center on the North Newton campus. The public is invited. Schmidt, a senior biology and elementary education major, will discuss a five-year study that examined the relationship between biodiversity and the success in establishing tallgrass prairie plant communities. Jon K. Piper, professor of biology, served as her project advisor.

Schmidt is the daughter of Dennis and Kathy Campbell and Mike Skinner, all of Clay Center.
