NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Montage Theatre of the Dance will premiere "Curbside New York," an original dance production, at 7:30 p.m., July 9 and 10 in Krehbiel Auditorium, Fine Arts Center on the Bethel College campus in North Newton. Through tap, ballet, jazz, modern, break dancing and acrobatics, the show depicts human behavior and mishaps on the streets of New York City. Choreographers are Tiffany Jefferson, Sherry Urton and Nate Ohmie. Tickets for the North Newton production are $7 for adults, $4 for children. All seats are general admission. Tickets can be purchased at Thresher Bookstore on the Bethel campus in North Newton or by calling (316) 284-5281. Summer hours for Thresher Bookstore are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The tickets are also available at Ten Thousand Villages, 625 North Main, Newton, and at the door before each performance.
Montage Theatre of the Dance is a professional dance theatre company that incorporates many genres of dance and the fine arts into the artistry of theatre and the performing arts. Montage is the first professional dance company based in Newton. Tiffany Jefferson, who teaches dance at Bethel College, is one of the artistic directors.
The Wichita debut for "Curbside New York" is set for 7:30 p.m., July 17 in the Orpheum Performing Arts Centre, 200 North Broadway, Wichita. Tickets for the Orpheum performance are $9 at the door.
