NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Gregg Schroeder has been named interim director of the nursing program at Bethel College, according to John Sheriff, vice president for academic affairs. Schroeder has taught at Bethel College since 1992 and is currently associate professor of nursing. "Gregg will give excellent leadership to the nursing program at Bethel College," Sheriff said. "He is well aware of the high goals the college has for the nursing program and is eager to see the program grow and to see himself grow professionally in this administrative role. Gregg’s energy, creativity and can-do attitude will serve Bethel College very well."
Schroeder has taught and served as course coordinator for a variety of nursing courses at the college. He also has supervised clinical experiences for beginning students and critical care experiences for seniors. He has led student nursing trips to Russia and given public lectures about Russian health care.
In recent years, he has also worked as clinical nurse specialist in the intensive care unit at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita. Schroeder has also worked at Halstead Hospital.
A 1992 Bethel College graduate, Schroeder holds a master of science in nursing degree from Wichita State University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
Schroeder’s appointment follows last month’s resignation of Carol Moore, who had served as the nursing program director since 1998.
