Claassen to give senior voice recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Bethel College student Emily Claassen, soprano from Beatrice, Neb., will present her senior voice recital at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 14 in the Administration Building Chapel on the North Newton campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Claassen, a senior social work major, is the student of Kathryn Kasper, associate professor of music. Claassen's recital will include pieces by Handel as well as opera selections and Emily Dickinson poetry set to music. Claassen will be accompanied by juniors Ivonne Cabrera, soprano from McPherson, and Ben Gundy, baritone from Bluffton, Ohio; and freshman Caitlin Welch, soprano from Lawrence. Christopher Shaw, senior from Peabody, will accompany them on piano.
