Bethel College student to present senior string bass recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Bethel College student Tory A. Doerksen, Prescott Valley, Ariz., will present his senior string bass recital at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 23 in the Administration Building Chapel on the North Newton campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Doerksen, a senior music performance and Bible and religion major at Bethel College, is the student of Eric Crawford, adjunct instructor of music. Doerksen's recital will include pieces by J.S. Bach, Charlie Parker and "Chick" Corea. He will be accompanied on several pieces by senior Chris Janzen, Fresno, Calif., on guitar; junior Jesse Overright, Normal, Ill., on drums; and freshmen Jerel Ren Fast, Boulder, Colo., on trombone, and Aaron Linscheid, North Newton, on trumpet.

Doerksen is the son of Wayne and Jeanette Doerksen of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
