NORTH NEWTON, KAN. -- Registrations for a two-day bus trip to Northwest Kansas later this month are due Tuesday, April 6. Planned by Kauffman Museum and First Bank of Newton, the April 22 and 23 trip, "From Czechs to Swedes," is the seventh of nine trips planned by the museum and bank to destinations in Kansas. Plans for the Northwest trip include Czech kolaches in Wilson, the Swedish Crown and Hemslojd in Lindsborg, overnight in Colby, Old Fort Hays, Colby’s Prairie Museum of Art and History, the biggest barn in Kansas, an English sheep farm at the Cottonwood Ranch State Historic Site, the African-American community of Nicodemus and a French-Canadian Catholic church in Damar.
"Guests especially appreciate our trips because all expenses, including meals, tips and taxes, are included in one price," says Andi Schmidt Andres of Kauffman Museum. "We take care of all the details ahead of time so that guests can sit back and enjoy themselves."
Later bus trips are planned for May 11 and June 2 and 3.
