Bethel College Concert Choir to tour during spring break

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – The 42-voice Bethel College Concert Choir will tour in five Midwestern states during the college’s spring break. Performances are scheduled for March 20-28 in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. Conductor is Dr. William Eash. Concerts to which the public is invited are scheduled for:

  • Beatrice (Neb.) Mennonite Church, 7 p.m., Saturday, March 20;
  • Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson, Neb., 9:30 a.m., Sunday, March 21;
  • Salem-Zion Mennonite Church, Freeman, S.D., 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 21;
  • Bethel Mennonite Church, Mountain Lake, Minn., 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 22;
  • Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis, Minn., 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 23;
  • Iowa Mennonite School, Kalona, Iowa, 7 p.m., Thursday, March 25;
  • Rainbow Mennonite Church, Kansas City, Kan., 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 26;
  • Southern Hills Mennonite Church, Topeka, Kan., 10:30 a.m., Sunday, March 28;
  • Memorial Hall, Bethel College, North Newton, Kan., 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 28.
  • The choir will also sing at Freeman Academy and Iowa Mennonite School chapel services and at Lansing (Kan.) State Correctional Facility.

    The concert will include a cappella and accompanied sacred selections from the renaissance, classical, romantic and contemporary periods of musical literature. Accompanists are Bethel College students Christopher Shaw on organ and piano, Russell Adrian and Chelsea Vaught on piano and Caitlin Welch on cello.
