Bethel College to host Parents and Family Weekend

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. - Parents and Family Weekend at Bethel College is scheduled for Feb. 15 and 16 with a variety of activities planned for family members of current students. Hosted by the Student Alumni Association (SAA) and the Parents Association, the event will include a campus tour, student talent show, faculty reception, buffet dinner and Sunday morning worship. Registration for family members is from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday in Schultz Student Center. The Thresher basketball teams will play Sterling College in Thresher Gym on Saturday, Feb. 15. The men’s junior varsity team plays at 3 p.m., the women’s team at 5 p.m. and the men’s varsity at 7 p.m. Recognition of team members and their parents will follow the women’s game. After the men’s game, the Parents Association Council will host a reception for students and families.

The nursing lamplighting ceremony, which honors junior nursing students, is at 2 p.m., Feb. 16 in the Administration Building Chapel.

The Dave Pietro Jazz Quartet, a jazz group from New York City, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 16 in Krehbiel Auditorium, Fine Arts Center. Tickets for the event, which is open to the public, are $5 for adults, $3 for students. Children who are 12 and under will be admitted free. The Fine Arts Center Gallery will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 4 p .m. on Sunday. Kauffman Museum will offer free admission from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for family members who have registered for Parents and Family Weekend.
