Community invited to Bethel College for Messiah Sing

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. - The community is invited to next Wednesday’s Bethel College chapel service for the annual Messiah Sing. Singers and listeners are welcome to attend the service scheduled for 10 a.m., Dec. 11 in Bethel College Mennonite Church. Soloists are Bethel College students, including seniors Brett Klingenberg from Peabody; Karenza Kroeker from Chouteau, Okla.; Katie Ott from Maize; James Regier from Haven; and Kara Stucky from Kingman.

Juniors performing solos will be Amber Celestin from Maize; Emily Claassen from Beatrice, Neb.; Miranda Crile from Mount Pleasant, Iowa; Joseph Dick from Bloomington, Ill. Soloist Micah Bales from Wichita is a sophomore.

Student conductors will include Crystal Stotts, junior from Longmont, Colo. (formerly McPherson, Kan.); Curtis Shoup, junior from Mt. Eaton, Ohio; Tory Doerksen, junior from Prescott Valley, Ariz.; Mike Ducett, senior from Normal, Ill.; and Laura Kautz, junior from Leola, Pa.

Copies of Handel’s "Messiah" will be provided, but singers are invited to bring their own scores to sing the choruses. The church, located at 27th St. and College Avenue in North Newton, is handicapped accessible.
