Experiential Learning - Nursing

In recent years, several students have obtained summer internships at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. In addition, other students have completed summer assignments and internships in local tertiary facilities in the Wichita area.

In keeping with Bethel’s emphasis on undergraduate research, nursing students complete an individual or group undergraduate research project which is then presented at Bethel’s Undergraduate Research, Internships and Creative Activity (URICA) Symposium in the spring or at the Sigma Theta Tah Epsilon Gamma Chapter-at-Large Research Day symposium. Content of the studies center on one of the six Quality and Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN) competencies: patient-centered care; teamwork and collaboration; evidence-based practice; quality improvement; safety; informatics; or a nursing practice issue relevant to their capstone placement.
