This conference is a two-day event where first-generation college students across the state meet each other and build networks, share common challenges and opportunities, get information about how to better understand the college experience and develop a strong first-generation identity.
First-generation students are those whose neither parent nor guardian earned a four-year college degree. This student conference brings first-generation students from college and universities together for a common experience with a desired outcome of greater persistence to graduation and a better prepared workforce.
