Connect To Purpose

Community

The Sand Creek Trail Committee has been largely responsible for the expansion of Sand Creek Trail, establishment of Memorial Grove and various tree-planting projects. But these developments would not have been possible without the work of numerous community volunteers and support from Bethel College and the City of North Newton.

Private donations have met all costs of establishing these areas. Additional financial resources and labor are required to continue the maintenance. One method of supporting Sand Creek Trail is to purchase a memorial brick to be placed in the entrance walkway to Memorial Grove. Cost of placing a brick engraved with the name/s of the person/s to be memorialized is $1,000. Several donors may jointly contribute to meeting the $1,000 figure for a particular brick.

To purchase a brick, contact the Bethel College Office of Development. To make a general financial contribution or help with the costs of trail maintenance and upkeep, you may also contact Matt Hein, or send a check, made payable to Bethel College and earmarked Sand Creek Trail, to:

Bethel College Office of Development
300 East 27th Street
North Newton, KS 67117

All donations are tax-deductible.

If you are interested in volunteering on Sand Creek Trail, contact Richard Rempel, trail manager, at rrempel@bethelks.edu or (316) 283-7965.
