Women head into post-season with home court advantage

Thresher women’s basketball hosts the Bethany Swedes in Thresher Gym tonight at 7 p.m. as KCAC Tournament play gets underway.

Since Bethel (20-9, 15-9) finished the regular season as the #4 seed in the KCAC standings, they earned their first postseason home game since 2011.

Here’s a breakdown on what spectators can expect for Thursday evening's KCAC quarterfinal matchup.

ADMISSION: The ticket windows in the lobby of Thresher Gym will open at 6 p.m. All spectators and students must enter through the main lobby entrances (north or south) – entrance through the northeast and southeast doors, closer to Memorial Hall, will not be permitted.

The first 100 Bethel students who show their student ID at the ticket office will be admitted free to the game. Faculty and staff from any KCAC member institution may show their member-school ID to get half-price ($6) admission.

Adults - $12
Senior citizens (55-plus) - $6
KCAC member school faculty & staff with school ID - $6
Non-Bethel students (with ID) or Bethel students without Bethel ID - $3
Children 5 & under - Free

Please note that all single-season passes, sport passes, lifetime passes and other means of entrance issued by Bethel Athletics will not be accepted (NAIA passes only).

NEON NIGHT: It will be Neon Night for the Bethel student section, and the first 50 students will get a free neon T-shirt. Community spectators are encouraged to participate by wearing neon-colored clothing.

BOOSTER CLUB MEAL: There will be a meal in Memorial Hall, starting at 6 p.m. and free for all Bethel Athletics Booster Club members.

12/05/18 - Bethel won 58-49 in Thresher Gym. Jade Brown and Riley Schmieder led the way with 26 combined points, while Abby Schmidt had a personal best seven blocks.

01/26/19 - Bethel won 68-64 in Lindsborg. Sixty combined fouls from both sides made it a game of depth, as Jade BrownKarlie Schroeder and Kendall Michalski each finished in double figures for Bethel.

02/24/11 - Bethel defeated Friends University 75-68 in the KCAC quarterfinals. Jessica Muckenthaler scored 18 points while Holly Anthony turned in a 16/15 double-double to down the Falcons.
