Bethel will be part of the first-ever KCAC basketball doubleheader broadcast on ESPN3, Saturday, Jan. 12, starting at 3 p.m.

The Thresher women’s and men’s basketball teams travel to York, Neb., to take on the York College Panthers, with the women’s game at 3 p.m. and the men’s game scheduled to take place right after that, at 5 p.m.

“Having the opportunity for our basketball teams to play on ESPN3 is beneficial to our entire institution,” said Bethel Athletic Director Tony Hoops.

The Thresher football program was featured twice in the 2018 season on national network ESPN3, once at the University of Saint Mary and once in Thresher Stadium.

“This is great marketing exposure for Bethel College athletics and Bethel College as a whole,” Hoops continued.

“[KCAC] Commissioner [Scott] Crawford did a tremendous job in organizing this unique contract between the KCAC and ESPN3 this fall in football. We are fortunate and thankful to be able to be a part of this in basketball now as well.”

The Thresher women (12-5, 7-5) take on the York Panthers (4-13, 1-11), followed by the men’s game between Bethel (10-8, 5-7) and York (9-8, 7-5). Stream ESPN3 is available through a computer or mobile device, or with the ESPN app on Roku and Amazon Fire devices.
