NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Mika Patron will give her senior recital March 12 at 3 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Patron, of North Newton, is a student of Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, Bethel professor of music, and also Donna Hetrick, instructor of organ.

She will graduate in May 2017 with a degree in music.

On Patron’s recital program are four pieces from Fantasiestücke, Op. 12, by Robert Schumann, “Bruyères” by Claude Debussy and six movements from Ludus Tonalis by Paul Hindemith.

She will play five piano duets from Jeux d’Enfants, Op. 22 by Georges Bizet with guest artist Olivia Gehring, senior from Manhattan.

Patron will also play the “Praeludium et Fuga in D Major” by J.S. Bach on the organ.

Patron is a 2012 graduate of Concordia Academy in North Newton.

She has been playing percussion in the Bethel College Wind Ensemble since she was a high school student.

As a Bethel student, she has sung with the Bethel College Women’s Chorus, for which she serves as rehearsal accompanist, and played in the rhythm section (piano) of Bethel College Jazz Ensemble II.
