NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College student Matthew Lind will give his senior clarinet recital April 8 at 2 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.
Lind, of Newton, is a student of James Pisano, Bethel College associate professor of music and director of jazz studies.
Lind will graduate from Bethel in May with a degrees in music and math.
On Lind’s program are “Petit Piece” and “Premiere Rhapsodie,” both by Claude Debussy; Propagations by Jason Freeman (b. 1977); and Concerto for Clarinet, K. 622, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
His piano accompanist is Rosa Lee, Bethel associate professor of music.
Lind is a 2013 graduate of Eastern Mennonite High School, Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a 2015 graduate of Hesston College.
He is the son of Joyce and Myron Lind of Harrisonburg.
Lind has been a member of Bethel College Jazz Ensemble I for five years, the Bethel College Wind Ensemble for three years, and Bethel College Jazz Combo II and the Bethel Philharmonia for two years. He sang with the Bethel College Chamber Choir and the men’s a cappella ensemble Open Road for one year.
Lind’s April 8 recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place on the ground floor of the Administration Building.
