Forensics novices compete at Hutch tournament

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College’s four novice forensics competitors got a bit more experience at a late-semester tournament.

Head Coach Mallory Marsh took the students to Day 1 of the Outer Limits Swing Dec. 5 on the campus of Hutchinson Community College, with HCC hosting.

Bethel was one of nine schools competing.

Candy Dao, freshman from Salina, finished 1st in Dramatic Interpretation and was “next out” in Prose Interpretation, while sophomore Shekhinah Jones, also from Salina, was 2nd in Poetry Interpretation and 5th in Prose.

Freshman Emily Kondziola, North Newton, took 4th in Impromptu Speaking and 6th in Informative Speaking.

Heather Chaney, freshman from Erie, also competed.
