Bethel College musicians to premier new works by music composition major

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. - Bethel College student Reid Kaufmann will present his senior composition recital at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1 in the Administration Building Chapel at Bethel College, North Newton. The recital will offer premier performances for cello quartet, piano, organ and voice. Admission is free and open to the public. Performers are Bethel College students Jonathan Wiebe from Newton, JulieAnn Minns from Wichita, Erin Fasnacht from Hutchinson, Allison Penner from West Chester, Ohio, Ian Gingrich-Gaylord from Wichita, Christopher Shaw from Peabody, Karenza Kroeker from Chouteau, Okla., and Albena Arnaudova from Bourgas, Bulgaria.

Kaufmann is working toward majors in music composition and computer science. He is a student of composer J. Harold Moyer, professor emeritus of music at Bethel College. The son of H. James and Lois Kaufmann of New Paris, Ind., Kaufmann graduated from Bethany Christian High School in Goshen, Ind., in 1999.
