Bethel College to host Family Fest

September 11th, 2017

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College welcomes families of students to campus for Family Fest, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 and ending on Sunday, Feb. 22. Activities on Friday will include a time for parents to attend classes with their students as well as seminars on a variety of college issues from how to relate to returning college students to career opportunities for students after graduation.

Events planned for Saturday include comedian Eric O'Shea and a tailgate party. A family worship service in the Administration Building Chapel and jazz brunch are planned for Sunday.

Formerly called Parents' Weekend, Family Fest promises to be vastly different from weekends in the past, with a stronger focus on helping parents become more involved in their student's academic and social experiences, planner and resident director Deanna Wisdom says.

"We really want to create a casual and meaningful experience for students and their parents," Wisdom adds.

Registration for Family Fest will begin in late January. For information call Deanna Wisdom at (316) 284-5324.
