Bethel College Dance Ensemble, Dance Athletics to give Christmas recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – The Bethel College Dance Ensemble, along with Dance Athletics will present "Excerpts from The Nutcracker" at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7 in Krehbiel Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center on the Bethel College campus in North Newton. Cost is $5; children under five are free. Directed by Tiffany Jefferson, dance instructor at the college, and Sherry Urton, the troupe will perform an updated version of Tchaikovsky's classic Christmas ballet. "Excerpts" is a modernized version of The Nutcracker that incorporates ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, Irish, modern and acrobatic dance.

The multi-generational performance will include dancers from age five to those in their 60s.
