Supplement your Bethel College awards with federal and state funds or campus employment to help pay for your college education.
Your eligibility for need-based aid is determined by the data you submit on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Your maximum amounts and types of federal grants and loans , Kansas aid and work study eligibility are also determined by the FAFSA. Specific deadlines and distribution policies apply.
- April 1: FAFSA deadline to receive state aid
- 001905: Bethel College FAFSA code
- Annual completion of the FAFSA is required.
Student employment
You may choose to apply any on-campus student employment earnings to charges for your college degree once you’ve established a proven Bethel work history. Most work study jobs are between 8-10 hours per week and located on the Bethel campus. Wage rates vary depending on each position.
What if I need additional funds?
If you have used all your available government aid and still need additional funds to help pay for school, loan financing may be available through different lenders.
PLUS Loan:
The U.S. Department of Education makes Direct PLUS Loans to eligible parents. PLUS loans can help pay for education expenses not covered by other financial aid. Parents can apply for this loan at: studentaid.gov.
Alternative Education Loans
Fast Choice:
Provides a list of lenders our students used last year. You are welcome to use other lenders as well. We do not recommend one lender over another. These loans are generally more expensive than government loans. https://choice.fastproducts.org/FastChoice/home/190500/1

Deadlines
Applications for federal funds (Perkins Loans, Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants, Pell Grants and work study employment) should be completed before the beginning of the fall semester. Late applications will be accepted with no guarantee that funds will be available at registration and fee payment time. Applications should be completed and turned into the Office of Financial Aid.
All programs administered by the Office of Financial Aid are listed in the Bethel College Catalog. Any questions concerning aid programs should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid.
Distributions
Half of the financial aid award is applied to each semester. Prior-year accounts must be paid in order to receive your financial aid award for the current year. The Perkins Loan will be credited to your account after you sign the promissory note. The Direct Loans are paid by check or electronic fund transfer and applied to your account.
Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) are also available. These loans are made to parents rather than students and repayment begins 60 days after the loan has been made. If you plan to take advantage of either a Direct or a PLUS loan, you must complete an application form and return it to the Bethel College Office of Financial Aid.
