Abstract

This paper provides a mathematical treatment of the one-dimensional diffusion and advection-diffusion equations, taking the entire real line as the spatial domain. Moreover, a diffusion process is experimentally investigated, exploring the modeling capabilities of the diffusion and advection-diffusion initial value problems.
