Greer Fine Arts Visiting Artist Series

This fine arts endowment was established at Bethel College in memory of Milford E. Greer, Jr., a native of Geuda Springs, Kan., and brings visiting artists and scholars to the campus in the areas of music, visual arts or theater.

Bethel College Academy of Performing Arts

The Bethel College Academy of Performing Arts (BCAPA) was founded in 1996 when Bethel College, the Newton community and its neighbors acted on a need for increased opportunities for music instruction for students of all ages. BCAPA began as an Academy of Music, including a Suzuki school for string instruction, with a name change to Academy of Performing Arts in 2004 with the addition of dance instruction.

BCAPA currently serves more than 250 students representing more than 200 families from Newton, the Wichita metropolitan area and Bethel and Hesston colleges, with two locations for instruction, at 123 East Broadway in downtown Newton and in the Bethel College Luyken Fine Arts Center. Bethel music students can gain practical experience as BCAPA instructors in all areas.
