About Guadalupe: I was born in Peoria, Illinois, and my family moved to Newton in 2000. At Newton High School, I had three Mennonite friends who were all going to Bethel. I did a campus visit along with them.

I liked the attention students received from professors. I didn't want to sit in a classroom with hundreds of students, listening to a professor who didn't even know my name. I knew that at Bethel I would be able to have that one-on-one interaction with my professors. People were also really nice and seemed to really care about me, which further encouraged me to attend Bethel.

My family and friends also pushed me to come here. My family knew about Bethel's great academic reputation and they thought this would be the best choice for me. I graduated from Bethel in May of 2014 with a double major in business and psychology.

As a student, I was able to participate in different clubs and organizations such as Multicultural Student Union and NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness). I also had two research experiences in the psychology field, and I was able to get paid to do research at bigger institutions for two summers. Additionally, I was able to travel and present the psychology research I conducted at Bethel at places like Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

If you want to build long-lasting relationships that will help you with your future career and life in general, Bethel is the place for you. Professors really care about you and will go out of their way to make sure that you have all the tools necessary to succeed.

If you're a person who likes to try new things or to be involved, Bethel has many different opportunities. Bethel is a place where you'll learn things about yourself you didn't know before.I discovered I had a passion for psychology at Bethel. I know that if I had gone somewhere else I would have never discovered that and my college experience would have not been the same.

My family is from Jalisco, Mexico, and one of my favorite things to do is visit Mexico for a month in the winter to spend time with friends and family. I also love to dance!

Since I recently graduated, I'm now really enjoying having free time to spend with family. I'm also a huge soccer fan. My favorite teams are Chivas, Barcelona and Mexico.
