Women’s soccer announces signing of Jessica Kerstine

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College women’s soccer coach Tony Turini announced the signing of the first recruit of the 2014 class.

Jessica Kerstine, a senior at Blue Valley High School, Stilwell, signed a letter of intent to play collegiate soccer at Bethel beginning next fall.

“Jessica is a strong defender, who played for a defense that gave up only three goals in all of last season,” Turini said.

Kerstine plans to study athletic training at Bethel.

“I chose Bethel because of the academic excellence and the outstanding athletic training program,” Kerstine said. “I felt like this college and campus would be a good fit for me. It felt like home.”

“Jessica comes from a strong high school program and plays for a great club team,” Turini said. “She is an outstanding student who will excel both academically and athletically at Bethel. We could not be more excited to add Jessica to the women’s soccer family.”

Bethel College is the only private, liberal arts college in Kansas listed in the 2013-14 Forbes.com analysis of top colleges and universities in the United States, and is the highest-ranked Kansas college in the Washington Monthly annual college guide for 2013-14.
