Barrera and Lehmann to give joint saxophone recital

NORTH NEWTON, KAN.– Bethel College students Daniel Barrera, Newton, and Carl Lehmann, Marion, S.D., will join together for their junior saxophone recital Sunday, April 7, at 7 p.m. in the Administration Building chapel.

Both will graduate from Bethel in May 2014 with music minors. Barrera is majoring in business and Lehmann  in biology. They are students of James Pisano, Bethel College associate professor of music.

Accompanists for the recital are Melody Bontrager, North Newton, and Karen Bauman Schlabaugh, Bethel professor of music.

At Bethel, both Lehmann and Barrera are members of Bethel College Jazz Ensemble I.

Barrera is a 2010 graduate of Newton High School. Lehmann is a 2010 graduate of Freeman (S.D.) Academy.

The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in The Meeting Place, on the ground floor of the Ad Building.
